Shoes, booties, and terrariums.

Remember these babies? I've only worn them every single day of nice (and not so nice) weather for the last 6 years.
Best 20 bucks spent ever.

A few days ago I get out of the van, I heard a POP and I realized my shoes have seen the last of their days. No more frolicking. No more climbing mountains (seriously, you can climb mountains in these things. Done it.) I howled, and my husband and kids that were getting out of the van looked at me like I was crazy. Once they found out the problem, they were all very sympathetic though. They know how much I loved those shoes.

Despite my love, I had no qualms of betrayal by replacing them the first chance I could. Now I have these lovelies. Their sizing must have changed some though in the last 6 years, because these are 1/2 a size larger, and still a bit snug.

What do you think?

My latest knitting obsession. Aren't they cute? I love the buttons (Thanks, Mom!)

No, they aren't for me. So stop asking. I just happen to like to have baby gifts on hand. You know. For OTHER people.

Another current obsession in our household (one that I have been witnessing with growing alarm) is the obsession with snakes, turtles and lizards. While my family is respectful of my desire for nothing furry in the house, they refuse to listen to any arguments I have regarding a snake. Lohn found this whole getup (table, lights and all) at yard sales. $45 dollars for everything. As soon as we are back from vacation, some scaly abomination will be in this tank.
I am having serious qualms about having dead mice in my freezer.  Dead. Mice. In. My. Freezer. Probably right next to my chicken. Anyone want to come to dinner? Heaven help me.

So glad you got some more favorite shoes! They look awesome and comfortable! And you're so talented in the crocheting department, wish I could come learn from you. Adorable! And best of luck with the scaly abominations. Can't wait for an update on that situation! :)
