So I am alive! We left at exactly 4 am on June 30th, drove 14 hours, and 10 hours the next day. Despite the fact that Sylas broke the portable DVD player on the first day, and 6 people being enclosed in a 5' by 10' space for 24 hours, the kids did GREAT! We have awesome travelers. We are now in beautiful Idaho, where it isn't humid, I feel fresh and dry all the time, and the temperatures are mostly in the low 80's. The kids have spent the majority of their time in the backyard, canoeing and kayaking in the pond, and exploring. I am on constant 24 hour alert to keep Sylas from drowning (I've already pulled him from the pond at Lohn's brothers house.) But we are happy and all is going well. Heres an update on the job interviews Lohn recently had.
Aramark- South Bend, IN- He was offered the job for 35,000 a year. Nuf said.
Ally- Dallas TX- Also offered the job, however the pay is lower than we would like, and while we are holding out for a better paying job, this one is still a possibility.
Suntrust Bank- Atlanta Georgia- I am still grieving over this one. Lohn would have loved this job, but we just found out yesterday that this one is a no go.
Windhaven insurance- Miami FL- Ever since they asked Lohn what kind of compensation package he was looking for we haven't heard back from them. I am trying to convince myself that is okay because I really don't want to live in Miami.
So I guess we are back at square one. While Lohn hates the job search and interview process, we are happy and we consider it a blessing to be among family. I will post pictures soon!
