BB&T are not my favorite people. At all.

We were supposed to close on our house today. But the bank, BB&T, decided to wait to look at our paperwork until yesterday (Despite having had our documents since March). So when 3 pm rolled around today, when we were supposed to close, they still weren't ready. So now, it is 4 pm, we still don't have a house, and the sellers are supposed to buy a house tomorrow morning, which is dependent on us closing. Follow? Basic summary, BB&T is screwing over us and the sellers. Thanks BB&T. I'm going to shmeer you all over the internet.

Swim meet, frogs, graduation, cooking as an art form and packing.

We had a good week. I am in love with my skin, eczema-pocked as it is, because it didn't all fall off. That was scary. I am never letting my kids take sulfa drugs. Ever. Lohn's finger is almost better, he took out his own stitches.  And Tamsyn got contacts. She looked 2 years older overnight. And I made some great friends at our pool that are in our new church congregation we will be going to.

They all did great! 

Tamsyn also earned the Eagle award at her school. That is two years in a row! The Eagle award is for students who obey the rules. Lohn called it the brown noser award. :) 

My kids found some delightful frogs in our front yard. They are TEENY. We looked them up online- they are called cricket frogs. You can barely walk on our sidewalk for fear of stepping on one.

This is what happens when Lohn makes dinner. I cook to keep us alive, Lohn cooks as a form of art. Golly, I love that man!

 We close on our house on Tuesday. I am SO EXCITED! 

Washington DC and Good Friends

This week, while Lohn was sanding the deck, he got a sliver. Actually, more like a toothpick.  It went through the pad of his finger. We spent the evening in Patient First, who then referred us to the ER. Lohn now has 3 stitches. Fun, fun!

We met up with our dear friends, the Nielsens, in DC for the day. It was so great to see them again!

The Lincoln Memorial. There is a sign that requests "silence in this sacred temple." Super cool place.  

Washington Monument. I know nothing about it, since it is under reconstruction because of the earthquake of Aug. 2011. There was scaffolding all around it and no one is allowed near. Also, this is where Forrest Gump made his famous speech that no one heard :)

The National Museum of American History was our last stop. I really liked this Museum. Way cool things to see. Here are the kids on a "train" with buddies Jack and Graham.

 Did you know that Mormons had their own currency for a while? I didn't. Mormons were actually very well represented in the museum.

This is the coolest thing I saw in the museum. This is the actual sun stone recovered from the original Nauvoo Temple. Blood, sweat, tears, and much sacrifice went into the making of this temple. I felt honored to see part of it.

I was so glad that I got to see our dear lifelong friends from Indiana. Looks like a trip to Chicago sometime is in order to see them!

Also, in other news, I am having some dreaded reaction to an antibiotic I have been on. I seriously thought that I was going to die yesterday. I am happy to report that I feel like I am on the mend today. Phew.
