Halloween!!!!

Aren't my kids adorable! Tamsyn wanted to be princess Leya, Ander wanted to be Luke Skywalker, And I tried to get Gunnar to be Anikan, but he was determined to be Batman. And I wanted to make Sylas into Yoda, but couldn't bring myself to turn my baby green. So we just stuck with a Lion costume we already had and have been using since Ander was a baby. We had a wonderful week, but after 3 parties and doing princess Leya's hair for the third time this week, I must say I am happy for it to be OVER!

Halloween at the Village

Halloween at the Village is the best ever!!! First we had Trick or Treating and then the Village provided a heated tent, food, wagon rides, petting zoo, bonfire and a blue grass band. Sylas crashed when it was all over.

Look what I am learning!

The Village offers free knitting classes every wednesday, and they provided the materials. The idea is to complete scarfs and hats to donate to the same homeless shelter that the quilts are going to. I must say I am really loving my time here. In knitting class today, there were women from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Hungary, and 3 ladies from India. I was the only American. During class, Gunnar played with two little black boys, having a blast. I love the cultural experience I am getting here. One of my best friends is from Pakistan and she is Muslim. The woman from Nigeria is here seeking asylum because her husband is on the Nigerian government's black list because he is a human rights activist. This place is amazing and I love that I am learning how to knit, plus much much more.

ND vs. USC

So Lohn went to the big game yesterday and the kids and I stayed home and watched it on TV. We had a great party, we ate dinner on a blanket in front of the TV, I let the kids have soda pop and popcorn and the kids cheered. We lost, but just barely.

Chicago!

So Lohn and the kids didn't have school yesterday, so we packed up and went to Chicago to the Aquarium and the Field museum. We discovered that with a family of 6 it is just cheaper to buy a years membership. So now we are planning on going often. The aquarium was awesome. They even had a dolphin/beluga whale/seal/penguin show. That was the kids' favorite. I liked the real mummy at the field museum. Lohn's was the real Pirate treasure. They had a pirate exhibit with real recovered pirate treasure and weapons and cannons. They also uncovered treasure and there was a ton of it.

10 years ago today...

It was ten years ago today that Lohn proposed! Here is the story... Lohn and I met in Jackson WY. He was living in Victor working for his dad and attending the ward in Jackson for the Single Adults. I was there for just the summer to save money for my mission (never went). We met at FHE, and even though we never said a word to each other, I wrote in my journal that night that I met the guy I was going to marry and I even told that to my mom on the phone. Lohn went home and also had the same thoughts (although he didn't announce it to the world like I did) It took him a painstaking 3 weeks to work up the courage to ask me out ( I was HOT, so understandably he was nervous). But we had a great summer (the best of my life yet) and we both went back to school at USU (He told me he was going to be a lawyer, and I must admit I saw money signs). 3.5 months after our first date, He took me up to the Logan Temple and proposed, and 2 months after that he took me back again to marry me. I love you Lohn, happy engagement anniversary!

If anyone knows the secret for stopping time, I would love to have the recipe. My baby, just eight months, is standing up to things!

My little Umpa Lumpas...

So we went to the chocolate factory today and they gave us a tour. It smelt like heaven and looked like it too. They gave out free samples ( I resisted) and Gunnar was in heaven. I swear I didn't photoshop that drool into the picture. Anyone who knows Gunnar, knows he drools a lot.

Farmers Market

So I just discovered the local Farmers market, and here are my purchases. Actually with my WIC checks, they were all free, but even without my checks this is cheaper than the grocery store and it is all locally grown. I love the Farmers Market and I see us becoming good friends!

Monsters, Crocodile holes, punching, nailclippers, and the green necklace...

The Art Perfected

Here is my little man, perfecting the art of crawling. He has now discovered he can crawl into other rooms and explore those. I spend my days chasing after him and baby proofing as I go. (He shows me what I need to fix) He is much happier now that he is mobile.

1st of many Quilt Days

So we had a great turnout at quilt day. We had 9 ladies show up, many with no experience, and we had a great time. Some were cutting, some sewing, some pressing, some tying. I am amazed at how much we got accomplished for next weeks quilt. More pictures to come after todays quilt gets bound at next weeks meeting.
