I'm just so stinkin' proud!

Seriously, what an amazing feat and accomplishment! Also, I must add that he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Thats my man!

I love this picture. Many thanks to my father in law for taking such GREAT pictures!

Another great shot, taken just after he received his diploma (printed on sheep skin, no less) As Lohn walked back to his seat, we hooted and hollered for him, and Sylas yelled "good job, daddy!" and clapped his hands with us.

A tender moment... (snicker)

Family shot just after graduation. Sylas gripped his daddy's gown and said "My daddy!"

Lohn with fellow MBA-er, also a father of four kids. And a Mormon. With a super awesome wife. They are headed to Nashville.

Another fellow MBA-er, Dongsub Kim, with his two kids, Pearl and Jimmy, same age as Tamsyn and Ander and best buddies. They are headed back to Korea.

Lohn with Michael Taft Benson, president of SUU, and also the man that hired Lohn for a summer internship at SUU last summer. He graduated with his executive MBA, and is headed back to Cedar City, UT.

Lohn with MBA-er and best friend Ali Siddiq. Also a fellow Villager and awesome family. They are headed to Dallas Texas.

The whole McKee clan (At least all of the ones in South Bend, IN...) We are so glad Mom and Dad McKee came to support Lohn.

Lohn with MBA-er Forrest. No idea on his real name. He is a super funny and awesome guy, and sweet to our kids. He is headed to Michigan.

Lohns graduation present from Grandma McKee, Grandma Johnson, and all his siblings. Thanks guys, we love it, and it will always be displayed in our home!

Lohns SWEET gift from his parents. A leather bag for when he gets a professional job, stamped with the ND logo. Awesome.

Where are we headed to next??? I have no idea, but I am excited to find out! He has a phone interview on Tuesday with a company out of Philadelphia. Congrats to my husband, and let the adventures begin!!!

The last of many quilt days...

I am both happy and sad it is over. It was a lot of work, and towards the end, I was positively HATING quilting, and I am not sure I will ever do it again, but so sad that my time here is nearing an end. Some of my dearest quilting peeps are leaving within the next two weeks. Thank heavens for FB, I will hopefully stay in touch with them.

The first of many quilting days, two years ago...

A grand total of 92 homeless shelter quilts and 8 Village guest apartment quilts.
I love my quilting ladies!

No more jeans, time to invest in Moo-Moos

It went from FREEZING cold to HUMIDLY DISGUSTINGLY HOT! I am done with jeans forever, I need me some natural air conditioning. So I went to St. Vincent De Paul (couldn't find any Moo Moos) and found these lovelies for only 1.20 each!

Let the breezes flow.

Lohn. is. done.

Lohn had his last final yesterday evening. The very last one forever. I am SO proud of him. The kids and I decorated the apartment door so when he came home, he saw this...

The kids ran outside to meet him, cheering, as he walked home, and we celebrated with fake Oreos (Meijer brand, double stuff, not as good as Oreos, but good enough for the difference in price, you know?) As we were reading scriptures, I had to laugh at the kids because they were doing this...

They've missed him, can you tell? What you can't hear is Sylas saying, "MY daddy!" I am so sad happy we are done, and I dread look forward to our new adventures!

Mine and Lohn's creations

Due to unforeseen problems with Tamsyns Easter dress, she actually didn't have a new dress for Easter. So I got brave, let her pick out some fabric, found a blog tutorial on line, and made this skirt for her. I love the material she picked out, she has quite the eye.

These pictures are actually of the second skirt I made. The first one I made, she didn't like, because "It's too short." It wasn't, the skirt came to her knees, but she's recently of the opinion, that skirts are prettier if they come below the knee. So I had some material left over and I made this one. I was pleased with it.

As we were getting ready for church, she complained that her red sparkly dorothy shoes (the only church shoes she has) don't match the dress. Once again I failed to convince her, they look FINE. So Lohn went above and beyond and made these snappy little numbers

He ripped out the plastic part of her black flip flops and cut up one of her white T-shirts into strips, and made these.

I was AMAZED! Tamsyn loved them, and to be honest, I feel like I need a pair now. Aren't they cute, and kinda hippish?

The end result. Oh except I did her hair AFTER I took this picture. I put it up in a bun and wrapped the very last piece of left over material around the bun. When Lohn and I were done with her, she laughed and said she was "all homemade today!" Anyways, I am not much of a sew-er, but I had so much fun making this skirt, I think I am ready to try some other things.

My Mother Dear

So in honor of Mothers day, I am posting a picture of my mom.

It's weird saying this, but I suspect my mom was a HOTTIE.
A few small memories:

I was very young and trying to help you fold the laundry. I was sitting on the floor with a pile of washcloths. For some reason all of our washcloths were NOT square, they were shaped more like trapezoids. I tried so hard to fold them so the corners matched up, to no avail. I got really frustrated, started to cry, and threw them all to the floor. You calmed me down, wiped my tears, and told me that it is OKAY if they don't fold up perfect. I believe this was the point at which I took the fork in the road toward unperfectionism. (No that is not a word, see what I mean?) Honestly, I am glad I am not a perfectionist. Life is much less stressful, thanks mom!

I watched you collect every coin in the house, add them up perfectly and drive us to the grocery store. We got a gallon of milk, went to the checkout, and the beastly old lady looked at the change and said, "What do I look like, a bank?" You left the milk there, grabbed the change and cried the whole way home. I will always remember this and be grateful for the sacrifices I know you made for us. Thank-you mom for the times you went without, so I didn't have too.

I remember watching Dad sneak his arms around you from the back and hugging you while you cooked dinner. Such a small little memory, but as a child, it made me feel fuzzy and warm knowing that you guys loved each other. I knew I wanted a marriage like that.

I remember "helping" you with a painting project in the basement of our Wisconsin home. For all my "good help" you rewarded me with an ENTIRE snickers bar.

I remember you sitting in the recliner and I liked to come snuggle up on your lap. That was the safest and most comfortable place in the world to me. You never denied me love and hugs and you were always whispering words of comfort to me when I was in need. Oh, and you love me more than you love Lynn, which is so totally awesome.

I love you mom. You are the perfect example of motherhood to me, and I hope I can be as good of a mom to my kids as you have been/are to me. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Guess what crazy thing Tamsyn did!!!

SHE DYED HER HAIR PINK!!!

Okay, not really. Doesn't this hair remind you of the girl on Lazy Town? I hated that show.

This is what she really did. She was wearing pants that were frayed on the hem and riding her bike. Bad combo people. When she stopped, her pants were caught in the chain and she couldn't put her foot down and she just flopped over to the side. And landed right on her elbow. She babied it all that day and went to school the next and then I took her to the doctor. They did X-rays and they were "inconclusive" and referred me to the orthopedic surgeon. He looked at the X-rays and said one of the X-rays looked suspicious, and so he casted her and she will stay like this for a week, go back for another x-ray and if there is a break, we will be able to see new bone growth and then we will know for sure. If there is new bone growth, thus a break, she will have a cast for 5 more weeks. She's already HATING the restrictions put on her. I feel bad for her, and that she has to wear this for a week and a half and I just pray that she won't have to wear it for 5 more weeks. Good news is that we have already met her deductible for the year, so X-ray away, Doc!

Happpy Birthday Grandpa Dahle!

We changed the words of the song from Daddy to Grandpa. Please note that Sylas chose to give Grandpa something that was more special to him rather than a "great big kiss".

A few things I've learned from my Daddy.
-I remember at the Fireworks on 4th of July when I was a teenager, we stood to sing the National Anthem. Dad chided the teenage boys in front of us and told them to stand and put hands over hearts for their flag. I have since done the same thing at least twice. And proud of it.
-In church as a little girl I was coloring on the program, which had a picture of Jesus on the front. I gave Jesus some glasses, and some lovely scribbles. Dad told me that wasn't very respectful. I can say that I have never done that again, and my children never will either. Thanks Dad for teaching me respect for Country and Jesus Christ!
-Dad likes practical jokes. The one that comes to mind, I won't share, but involves a dead animal and a marijuana plant. Lets just say, if I end up in jail because of a practical joke, it will be his fault.
Wow, we love you Grandpa Dahle!

Easter (a week late, I know)

MBA easter egg hunt. And they served us lunch :)

The Easter Yeti. Creepy, huh? This was at the Village egg hunt.

Another eraser??? Wheres the candy?

I didn't get many pictures of my older two, because the hunts were by age, which meant I had 4 children in 4 different areas.
On another note, this is Lohn's last week of classes. My how the last two years have flown by!
