Minecraft Party! (Ander turns 9!)

Ander (my minecraft nut) declared that he wanted a Minecraft theme for his birthday party. I have never, nor will I ever, play this game, so this came quite as challenge for me. Thanks to Pinterest (and to a Minecraft nutty husband and kids) we were able to pull it off.

For the goody bags, I found these green bags at Michaels 2 for .75. Lohn used a permanent marker for the face.

We filled the bags with TNT

Creeper Juice

And Diamonds and Gold and Iron. (I also used these as prizes for those who won the games)

For our landscape, the brownies with green frosting was the dirt and grass, rice crispy treats was snow, brown crispy treats was gravel, and the blue jello was water. We had 14 kids at the party. I will give you one guess what it looked like afterward...

I saved soda bottles for a bowling game. The orange is lava, blue is diamond, green are creepers, black is the skeleton, and dark green was the spider. My boys put some gravel in the bottom of each so they were somewhat steady.

We used a baseball as a bowling ball. A point system was used. One point for each pin knocked over, except for the diamond pin (which was in the back middle) was worth 5 points.

Tamsyn made this game up all by her self.

Once again, we used gold, diamonds and iron as rewards for getting the face on the posterboard.

We made some of these. This was the calmest the boys were the whole time.

We played dodge ball and freeze tag in the backyard (green balls were creepers, orange was hot lava)

And we played balloon games. That was pretty much just chaos.

This picture was taken just as one kid smacked the camera with his balloon.

Ander got some awesome presents (notice how hot and sweaty the boys are. It was HOT here today)
And that was our minecraft party. It lasted only 2 hours, but I was wiped out for 4 afterwards, haha!

Ander's party at home was much more calm.

I sure love my little not so little guy. He is such a joy, and I LOVE being his mom.

What a fun party! You did a great job. Tell me, what happens if my twins both want different themes for their birthday parties??
