I am thankful for... (Part 1 of my Thanksgiving series...)

ELECTRICITY!!!!!

Today because of wonderful electricity, I can wash the dishes in the dishwasher, do a load of laundry, stay up late to read my book, vacuum, cook a warm meal, take a hot shower, do anything computer related, watch my favorite show, keep my food cold, call my sister, play Draw Something with my mom, heat my home, and countless other things that I take for granted and don't even realize they use electricity. I feel for all those people displaced from their homes right now or don't have power because of Sandy. It's just too hard. Prayers are being said for them by my kids everyday. I think my kids have compassion for them a little more because they were scared we would be the ones without power.

Lohn told me to keep on the lookout for old electronics at yard sales so Ander could take them apart. (Lohns mom used to let him take apart old broken appliances and he loved it.) I found this DVD player for 50 cents and a good hour was spent dissecting it. Don't I have the best husband for thinking of it? (But that is a Thankful blog post for another day...)
