A Post about Monster Boxes and Crunched Fingers...

For Valentines Day, the kids are supposed to bring a decorated shoe box to school. I have to admit, I was stressing over this a little (Yes, silly, I know) But where is one to find THREE shoe boxes? I had no boxes about that size for them to decorate. Then I saw a cute idea on Pinterest for these monster boxes, only they were made with kleenex boxes. I was fresh outta Kleenex boxes, and then I had the brilliant idea to use cereal boxes, which I have an abundance of.

Ander calls his the LOVE Monster.
Sylas insisted I make him one too, how do I resist that sweet face???

On a different note, yesterday, Sylas was chasing Gunnar around the house, growling. Gunnar ran into the bathroom, slammed shut and locked the door.  Sylas was screaming, and I saw his finger was shut in the door on the hinge side. I ran to open the bathroom door, but it was locked. At this point, I lost it, and started screaming and pounding on the door. Tamsyn heard me, saw what was happening, and started screaming and pounding on the door too. I'm sure it didn't take Gunnar but seconds to open the door, but it felt like forever.
When he got his finger out, It was crumpled, crooked, and red all over.  Sylas was screaming and as I held him, he broke into a huge sweat and started shaking like a leaf. Is that shock? I think it must have been. I got him to calm down, but it took a good 15 minutes, and even then, he was shivering.
Crazy thing? Lohn knew something happened to one of the kids and one of their appendages. He was driving home from work when he got that impression. Only he thought it was worse, he thought it was chopped off (I was screaming as if it was...). We talked about the time frame, and discovered he got the impression at exactly the same time it was happening. We both are a little stunned and amazed by this. My and Tamsyn's sheer panic and Sylas's pain, somehow crossed time and space to Lohn. I say it is the Spirit, and I am grateful that we are connected through Him.

And Sylas? Well, there isn't much swelling, but he isn't using it. I am going to give him a little more time, but I might call the Doctor soon and make an appointment.  Poor little pumpkin.

Awesome monster boxes! We might steal that idea. Parker has to make one and he is having a hard time coming up with any ideas. And poor Sylas. Hope he is doing better!

Ohhh! Poor guy! I am exactly like you and jump around screaming more than the kids when they get hurt. Dave says they cry more from my reaction than if they got hurt without me witnessing it. :) Hope his finger feels better soon!

And the monster boxes are adorable! So fun for boys, without all the lovey mushy stuff!
