These pictures are actually of the second skirt I made. The first one I made, she didn't like, because "It's too short." It wasn't, the skirt came to her knees, but she's recently of the opinion, that skirts are prettier if they come below the knee. So I had some material left over and I made this one. I was pleased with it.
As we were getting ready for church, she complained that her red sparkly dorothy shoes (the only church shoes she has) don't match the dress. Once again I failed to convince her, they look FINE. So Lohn went above and beyond and made these snappy little numbers
He ripped out the plastic part of her black flip flops and cut up one of her white T-shirts into strips, and made these.
I was AMAZED! Tamsyn loved them, and to be honest, I feel like I need a pair now. Aren't they cute, and kinda hippish?
The end result. Oh except I did her hair AFTER I took this picture. I put it up in a bun and wrapped the very last piece of left over material around the bun. When Lohn and I were done with her, she laughed and said she was "all homemade today!" Anyways, I am not much of a sew-er, but I had so much fun making this skirt, I think I am ready to try some other things.

Nice skirt - and a gold star to Lohn for the cool shoes! Can I order a pair for myself? :)
Love that! Ingenuity makes family life work!
Maybe you two should go into business together! Looks great!
