Such a fun day! I loved every minute of it. I loved decorating for it, I loved cooking for it, I loved the visiting, lazy relaxation, and shopping. (Yes, shopping. On Thanksgiving. I know, I know...)
We were blessed to take part in the Adopt a Servicemen for Thanksgiving. I drove to Fort Lee (about 45 minutes away) and picked up two cute and YOUNG soldiers. Seriously, they were just kids.
Rumsey and Chris. Glad they felt comfortable enough with us to take a nap :)
Thanksgiving evening, Amy and I headed out to do some shopping.
We had no idea what we were in for. We got some great deals at Toys-R-Us, and then we headed to Target to wait in line for 2.5 hours. In the bitter cold. Without proper winter clothing.
Amy didn't even have socks on. She ended up going back to the van and digging up various pairs of Mason's socks and put them on her feet and hands. (Mason is 4...) It was all worth it though. We were one of the first in line, and Amy got those GREAT deals she was needing, and I got the items I needed. I am almost done shopping for Christmas!!! I have never been done this early before, and I am thinking Black Friday is a good thing after all.
We had a great time visiting and shopping. I have to admit, everyone I saw was courteous and there was none of the pushing/shoving/fighting you hear about on the news.
Happy Thanksgiving friends!
