Gunnar recently expressed interest in the evaporation process, so Lohn thought he would do an experiment at home with him. He filled this cup and marked the level with a green pen. This is where the level is last I checked.
Why is this blog worthy? Not only does it prove that my children love learning and that my husband loves teaching, but mostly this is blog worthy because that cup has been outside for a month now. A MONTH. Hello 99% humidity, you are ruining our experiment. In Utah that cup would have been bone dry in 2 days.
Our boys started Mileage club. It's twice a week and for the 20 minutes before school starts, they run laps on the playground. For every 16 laps (2 miles) they get a shoe token. (Little tokens that you can thread onto your shoe laces, and I hear they make you look so cool) Sylas runs with them. He runs at least a mile each time, without stopping. Time to get my lazy bones running again!
On occasion, Sylas asks me if he can "cook" with my pots and ingredients from the pantry. So I pull out anything that is on the verge, or I don't need anymore, and he mixes it all up with his measuring spoons and cups and whisks.
This particular concoction has lettuce, hot chocolate mix, cinnamon sugar, flour, salt, eggs, apple core and seeds, water and some milk. He declared them to be "homemade fruit snacks." I agreed that it was beautiful and asked politely if I could toss it now. He also arranged this lovely centerpiece on the table for me with treasures he picked up at preschool. Gosh I love that kid!
And in case you have ever doubted it, below is proof that I am married to a really awesome guy, and the best dad in the world. Ander, Tamsyn and Lohn have been working on a Hovercraft, which sounded like science fiction to me, but turned out to be quite a success!
I love love LOVE that he takes time to do stuff with the kids that is educational. And fun.
Yes, my husband rocks.
