The Village offers free knitting classes every wednesday, and they provided the materials. The idea is to complete scarfs and hats to donate to the same homeless shelter that the quilts are going to. I must say I am really loving my time here. In knitting class today, there were women from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Hungary, and 3 ladies from India. I was the only American. During class, Gunnar played with two little black boys, having a blast. I love the cultural experience I am getting here. One of my best friends is from Pakistan and she is Muslim. The woman from Nigeria is here seeking asylum because her husband is on the Nigerian government's black list because he is a human rights activist. This place is amazing and I love that I am learning how to knit, plus much much more.

I am so excited for you, what a great opportunity for you, in every way. It is amazing how sheltered we are sometimes and how a little adventure can really spice up life and keep things interested.
I think that's neat you are getting to know so many different people. It must be a great experience and I envy you for it.
